There is a Kingdom that has always been, and will always be. It is found in the heart of Jehovah God who has no beginning or end. He lives in eternity, and rules over all that exist. Before time began, before you were born, God had an eternal purpose for your life. The only way to find and fulfill this eternal purpose is through a relationship with The Eternal King, Jesus Christ. This blog is about The Eternal King and His Kingdom. It is about how you can be part of His Kingdom by having a relationship with Him, and fulfilling His eternal purpose for you.

JESUS DIDN'T DIE TO TAKE YOU TO HEAVEN!

THOUGHTS ON THE ETERNAL KINGDOM

JESUS DIDN’T DIE TO TAKE YOU TO HEAVEN!

To be all we can be we must understand that God doesn’t just want to save us from hell and take us to heaven.  Jesus died to deliver us from the power of sin and give us an opportunity to have a relationship with God.

Some people do a disservice by telling folks that just by saying a prayer they can have fire insurance which will save them from hell and take them to heaven.  John 3:16 tells us clearly that Jesus died to give us “eternal life” not just take us to heaven.  John 17:3 makes it clear that eternal life is having intimate fellowship with God that allows you to grow to know Him, and live to fulfill His purpose for you.

Those who truly care for men’s souls share a message of total surrender which calls people to be all they can be by yielding their heart and life to do God’s will and living to fulfill His purpose. They call everyone to offer their relationships, goals and ambitions, and possessions to God.  They emphasize the need to stay surrendered to God daily.  They teach individuals to feed on God’s Word (The Bible), to stay in touch with Him through prayer, and to walk in obedience to The Holy Spirit. They know this is the only way people can be all God wants them to be.

Question:  What kind of message about Jesus are you sharing with people?  Are you simply telling them to say a prayer so they can go to heaven, or are you helping them find “eternal life” through a relationship with God?

TRUE BIBLICAL DISCIPLESHIP

THOUGHTS ON THE ETERNAL KINGDOM
TRUE BIBLICAL DISCIPLESHIP

As you become all you can be God will guide you to fulfill His “Great Commission.”  His last instructions were, “go and make disciples of all the nations.”  Discipleship is not about getting people to follow us or teaching them how to be part of our organization.  It is helping them learn to live as citizens of God’s Kingdom. This means we must do more than just lead  people to believe in salvation through Jesus’ redeeming work on The Cross.   It means helping them become all they can be by sharing with people what we’ve learned as we have grown to know God and lived to fulfill His purpose.

The fruit of true Biblical discipleship is people living to please God rather than seeking to fulfill their personal desires.  Every area of their lives will be surrendered to God daily.  They will love God more than any person, anything they have, or anything they want to do.  They will be mature believers loving others more than themselves, and more concerned about the needs of others than their own needs.  They will desire to become all they can be by staying surrendered to God, feeding their soul and spirit on The Word and prayer, and seeking to be guided by the Holy Spirit in all they do.

The greatest need of the world today is true Biblical disciples that overcome the challenges of the world we live in.  This will help Jesus Kingdom to be manifest in the earth.  Are you living to be all you can be and are you fulfilling “God’s Great Commission” by helping people become His disciple?

GOD WANTS TO GIVE YOU VICTORY IN YOUR WILDERNESS

TTHOUGHTS ON THE ETERNAL KINGDOM

GOD WANTS TO GIVE YOU VICTORY
in your wilderness.

As you wait on God, grow to know Him, and live to fulfill His purposes; He will give you victory in your wilderness.  He will give you wings to fly over it, or the power to run or walk through it.  He will take you through the wilderness to the promised land of God’s abundant blessing.

YOU MUST GO THROUGH THE WILDERNESS

THOUGHTS ON THE ETERNAL KINGDOM

TO BE ALL THAT YOU CAN BE
You Must Go Through The Wilderness

God wants to take you to the promised land of His abundant blessings. In order to get to the promised land you must let The Lord lead you from Egypt (The love of the things of this world) through the wilderness.  The wilderness is where God separates you from all you love and have been depending on.  This is so you can learn to totally depend on Him.  It is in the wilderness that you come to a mature understanding of who God is and His purpose for you.  It has been part of the life of every great man of God.  Moses, David, Jesus, and Paul are just a few examples.

QUESTION:  Are you willing to let God lead you through the wilderness?

Scriptures:  The Book of Exodus, 2 Samuel 23:14-24:22, Matthew 4:1-11,
Luke 4:1-13, & Galatians 1:15-17

WHAT CAUSED THIS MESS? OR WHY ARE THE WICKED RULING OVER THE RIGHTEOUS?

WHAT CAUSED THIS MESS?
OR
WHY ARE THE WICKED
 RULING OVER THE RIGHTEOUS?

The Jews were God’s people.  They were blessed when they loved Him with all their heart and obeyed His voice.  Curses came when they loved other things more than Him and disobeyed Him.  God allowed the wicked to rule over them so they would see the error of their ways. When they kept disobeying His voice He scattered them to the ends of the earth just as He told them He would do.1

The Church today is the people of God.2  Jesus left some very specific things for His Church to do. First they are to make God’s Kingdom and their relationship with Him their number one priority.3 To bring God’s Kingdom on earth their time with Him in prayer must be the most important part of their day.4  Because they are God’s people The Church is to show Jesus to the world by the way they love and treat each other.5   If followers of Jesus spend time with Him and learn to obey His voice, they will grow to know God and fulfill His purpose for them.6  They will have the power and authority to overcome evil and establish His Kingdom in the earth. Jesus has all authority.  When Christ’s Church is in proper relationship to Him and each other they too have all authority.7

Christ’s strategy for establishing His Kingdom on earth is for His followers to go into the entire world, preach The Gospel of The Kingdom, and make disciples who follow Jesus. The strategy is not to build buildings and set up a weekly schedule of meetings in a specific place.  It is to simply do what Jesus did.  The Church is to build The Kingdom as they go about their daily activities.  They are to share The Gospel of The Kingdom as they have opportunity each day.  When people respond to The Gospel by making a commitment to follow Jesus with all their heart, Christ followers are to disciple them. They are to teach them how to grow to know God and fulfill His purpose for their lives. 8  As Christ followers do this He will build His Kingdom, evil will be destroyed, and righteousness will reign.  It has happened throughout history, and it will happen today.9

Paul referred to what happened to the Jews when he spoke to The Church.   “ These are all warning markers—DANGER!—in our history books, written down so that we don’t repeat their mistakes. Our positions in the story are parallel—they at the beginning, we at the end—and we are just as capable of messing it up as they were. Don’t be so naive and self-confident. You’re not exempt. You could fall flat on your face as easily as anyone else. Forget about self-confidence; it’s useless. Cultivate God-confidence.   No test or temptation that comes your way is beyond the course of what others have had to face. All you need to remember is that God will never let you down; he’ll never let you be pushed past your limit; he’ll always be there to help you come through it.   So, my very dear friends, when you see people reducing God to something they can use or control, get out of their company as fast as you can.”10

Why is the world in a mess?  God’s Word indicates that it is because God’s people, The Church, have abandoned His plan.  They have tried to build God’s Kingdom through strategies birthed from the fleshly heart of man rather than The Spirit of God.  As a result they are not in agreement with God and have no authority to overcome evil.  Many people who call themselves Christians do not live their lives to fulfill God’s purpose, but pursue their own desires.  God is allowing the mess to get our attention, and draw us back to Him and His plan.

There is hope.  God said, “ If the world around you is in a mess you can change everything by humbling yourselves, praying, seeking my presence, and turning your backs on the things you know displease me. I’ll listen from heaven, forgive your sins, and restore your land to health.” 11 The solution to the problems we see begins with us. We must bring our lives into agreement with God’s plan for us.  To do this we must grow to know God each day. Time with Him in The Bible and prayer must be our number one priority. We must seek to obey and please Jesus in all we do.  If we do this we will live in the power of The Kingdom, walk in the authority of Jesus, overcome the wickedness around us and bring righteousness to our land.12

Jesus said He would judge the world beginning with His people, The Church.  He will allow the wicked to succeed until His Church becomes The Bride without spot or blemish.13  This bride will overcome evil and establish God’s righteous Kingdom on earth.  Some of those who grow to know God, and live to fulfill His purpose for them will be part of the unblemished bride that prepares the way for Jesus return. They will be used by God to remove the evil mess in the world and restore God’s righteous rule to the land.14

What caused the mess around us?  Why are the wicked ruling over the righteous?  Because The Church has failed to be what Jesus called it to be.  What is the solution?  The answer is the people of God repenting of their failure and fulfilling His purpose in the earth. This is going to happen.  Will you be part of the answer by repenting of your failures, growing to know God, and seeking to fulfill His purpose for your life?

Question:  Who are you living to please Jesus or yourself?

HOW JESUS DEFEATED THE WICKED POLITICIANS

HOW JESUS DEFEATED THE WICKED POLITICIANS

The political leader thought he was a God to be worshiped and the religious leaders were corrupt.  This was the world that Jesus was born into.  Three hundred years later the political leader of that same nation gave His life to Jesus, and encouraged the citizens to do the same.  The religious system that the corrupt religious leaders led no longer existed.  How did Jesus defeat the wickedness of His generation?  He focused on The Eternal Kingdom.  He did not try to change the political situation, but instead focused on changing people’s hearts.  He went around sharing the message of The Kingdom, and doing good even to His enemies.  He encouraged His followers to do the same.1

Jesus understood this life is only temporary.  Eventually the world will self-destruct because of sin.  God will roll up the Universe like a piece of cloth.  Time will be no more.  Eternity with God will be the only living thing.2

Because Jesus loves people He paid the price with His own blood so that every person can be part of His Kingdom.3 Since God loves everyone, His Holy Spirit speaks to every heart.  He tells them that they are a sinner, that His offer of salvation is their only hope, and that if they do not become part of His Kingdom they will be destroyed.4  Those who trust in His salvation with all their heart become His Followers.  Jesus told His followers to make His   Kingdom and their relationship with Him the main focus of their lives.5 Jesus and His early Apostles made it clear that Christ’s followers are His physical presence in this world.  They are His hands, His feet, His eyes, His ears, His mouth, and are called to defeat the wickedness around them.6

Jesus’ early followers manifested the life of The Holy Spirit inside them and overcame the wickedness in their world.7 Jesus calls us today to live as He and His early followers lived.8 We need to make His Kingdom and our relationship with Him the main focus of our lives.  If we will do this, we will be His physical presence in this world.  We will be His hands, His feet, His eyes, His ears, and His mouth and overthrow the wickedness around us.   Jesus will give us the wisdom to do the right thing to the enemies of God.  If we try to overcome evil in our own strength, we ourselves will become evil.  When we overcome evil by doing good using God’s wisdom, God Himself will defeat the evil around us.  His will shall be done on earth as it is in Heaven.9

How can we defeat the wickedness around us?  The same way Jesus and His early followers did.  Focus on changing people’s hearts by sharing the message of The Kingdom with them, and doing good to them even when they are an enemy of God.

BASIC Question:  Are you allowing God to manifest His physical presence through you so He can use you to defeat the wickedness in your world?

BE ALL YOU CAN BE / GOD'S WORD FOR 2014

GOD’S WORD FOR 2014 AND BEYOND
BE ALL THAT YOU CAN BE

God loves you and wants you to be all He created you to be.  Seek to grow to know Him more each day, and fulfill His purpose for your life.  He will do more with your life than you ever thought possible.1

*Keep your heart totally surrendered to Jesus each day.  Exam your heart at the start of each day to be sure you love God more than any person, anything you own, or anything you are doing or desire to do.2
     * Feed your soul on God’s Word each day. Spend time each day meditating on His Word, The Bible, and how it applies to your life.3
*Talk to God continually telling Him what’s in your mind and on your heart.4
*Seek to listen to God’s Spirit and obey His voice.  Always seek to hear from God concerning the situations you deal with in your everyday life.  Try to let Him guide you in the decisions you make each day.5

If you will do these things daily, you will become the child of God He wants you to be.6  He will manifest Himself to the world through the things you say and do.7
