There is a Kingdom that has always been, and will always be. It is found in the heart of Jehovah God who has no beginning or end. He lives in eternity, and rules over all that exist. Before time began, before you were born, God had an eternal purpose for your life. The only way to find and fulfill this eternal purpose is through a relationship with The Eternal King, Jesus Christ. This blog is about The Eternal King and His Kingdom. It is about how you can be part of His Kingdom by having a relationship with Him, and fulfilling His eternal purpose for you.

KINGDOM GIVING

KINGDOM GIVING

Many people have questions about New Testament giving.   Adding to this misunderstanding is the confusion many people have about keeping the law versus walking in the Kingdom principles contained within it.  If we are truly a follower of Jesus then we will seek to understand the Kingdom principles concerning giving.   We will want to walk in them because we love God and want to please Him.  Kingdom giving comes from Kingdom living.  Those who are not living for The Kingdom will find it difficult to give according to Kingdom principles.

The Tithe and The Kingdom

Although the “tithe” (the first 10 percent of our income) is part of the Old Testament law it was a principle that preceded the Law.  Leviticus 27:30 states the principle that “The tithe is the Lords.”   It is a principle that both Abraham and Jacob practiced before the Law was given. (Genesis 14:20, & 28:22)  Why does “the tithe” belong to God?  He is the source of every blessing we have.  “The tithe” is the test of our heart.  Giving a tithe from the first fruits of what He’s blessed us with is our way of acknowledging Him as our source and showing we trust Him to provide for our needs. The way we handle the material blessings God gives us is an indication of our relationship with Him.  Jesus put it this way, And if you are untrustworthy about worldly wealth, who will trust you with the true riches of Heaven?” (Luke 16:11 NLT)

Scripture indicates that the purpose of “the tithe” is to provide for the needs of those we receive ministry from so they will be free to minister to us.  Abraham gave his tithe to the local priest.  The children of Israel gave their tithe to the Levites that lived among them.  Paul put it this way Let him who is taught the Word share in all good things with him who teaches; and “You shall not muzzle an ox while it treads out the grain,” and,The laborer is worthy of his wages.”(Galatians 6:6 &     1Timothy 5:18)

Offerings and The Kingdom

Offerings come from our heart when we love others more than we love ourselves.  This type of love is a sign of true spiritual maturity.

Ephesians 4:28 makes it clear that the reason we are blessed with a job is not only to meet our needs, but to give to the genuine needs we see around us.  2 Corinthians 8:12-15 tells us that we should have a desire that every person has their needs met and live as comfortably as we do.  This is part of loving your neighbor as much as you love yourself.   Proverbs 3:27-28 tells us we should give our neighbor what he needs if we are able to do so. Paul put it this way in Galatians 6:10, Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.” (NKJV)  The word “all” includes those we do not like or agree with.  Proverbs 25:21 & Romans 12:17-21 tells that one of the ways we overcome the evil in this world is by giving to our enemies.  Jesus gave to Judas even though He knew he would betray Him.

You cannot out give God

Kingdom giving leads to blessings.  Living to bless ourselves causes us to be cursed. To selfishly live an extravagant lifestyle when there are people we know who are in genuine need is a sign we love ourselves more than God. The love of money is the root of much of the evil in this world.  It comes from a heart that loves its own pleasure more than it desires to do God’s will, and does not trust God to meet its needs.  The Word makes it very clear, He who despises his neighbor sins; but he who has mercy on the poor, happy is he.” (Proverbs 14:21 NKJV) The righteous considers the cause of the poor, but the wicked does not understand such knowledge.” (Proverbs 29:7 NKJV) “He who gives to the poor will not lack, but he who hides his eyes will have many curses.” (Proverbs 28:27)

Those who give according to Kingdom principles believe God’s Word is true.  “He who oppresses the poor reproaches his Maker, but he who honors Him has mercy on the needy.” (Proverbs 14:31 NKJV)  “He who has a generous eye will be blessed, for he gives of his bread to the poor.” (Proverbs 22:9 NKJV)  “He who has pity on the poor lends to the LORD, and He will pay back what he has given.” (Proverbs 19:17 NKJV)   “Remember this—a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop, but the one who plants generously will get a generous crop.  You must each decide in your heart how much to give, and don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. “For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.”   God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others.  As the Scriptures say,
“They share freely and give generously to the poor.
Their good deeds will be remembered forever.”
For God is the one who provides seed for the farmer and then bread to eat. In the same way, He will provide and increase your resources and then produce a great harvest of generosity in you. Yes, you will be enriched in every way so that you can always be generous……”
(2 Corinthians 9:6-11 NLT)

POLITICIANS ARE NOT OUR HOPE!

POLITICIANS ARE NOT OUR HOPE

God says you’re in trouble when you put your trust in politicians instead of following Him and living to fulfill His purpose.  If you do this you will end up wasting your time and energy, and your life will amount to nothing.

Keep your focus on Jesus.  Love Him, trust Him, and believe He will meet all your needs.  If you do this your life will be blessed, and you will never lack what you require.  Living for Jesus enables you to have victory over life’s problems and live without fear.  As you follow Jesus you will fulfill His purpose for you.  Your life will be successful.

Your heart can deceive you.  Think about what you are doing and why you are doing it.  Doing it in Jesus name doesn’t make it right.  We must desire change because we love Jesus and want to see people reached for His Kingdom.  If our purpose for desiring change is so we can have a comfortable life and do what we want to do, then God will not honor our prayers and actions.  The reason the world is headed for destruction is because to many who say they are followers of Jesus are really living to please themselves.

Question:  Is your hope in Jesus or political leaders?

OUR CHILDREN

OUR CHILDREN
Rita’s thoughts

As I was preparing for 4 of our grandchildren to spend  the weekend with us I began to think about what their future will be like.  I thought about all my children’s friends that were pregnant and excited about their families growing.  I began to wonder, “Why would anyone want to bring children into this world with what the future will be like?”  Then I thought how selfish it would be to not have children so they could experience everlasting life in Heaven.  As I dug a little deeper I began thinking about raising our children.  How do we raise our children and grandchildren in this day and time?  We raise them as warriors in the Lord.  They have to be able to fight (in the Spirit) to be able to make it in the times to come.  They have to be ready to raise their children as warriors.

It would be selfish to desire children and then let them loose on the perverse society we have now, and we don’t even know how it will be in 10 years.  Make them ready with the whole armor of God set in place.  Take the time to teach them how to pray and battle in the Spirit.  Teach them to take authority over sickness with each other.  If it is done in the home they will naturally want to pray for others.  Read the Word with them daily especially the parts where Jesus spoke to the demons and commanded them to submit.  Practice what you preach in the home.  Help them to understand who they are in Christ Jesus.  They were born for a purpose and they need to find what that purpose is, with your help.  It is selfish not to take the time to train our children in Spiritual warfare.  You can’t be that busy.

Our children and grandchildren are a gift from God.  Let’s be sure we take care of them the way He wants us to.  If we ask, He will help us do it.

Question:  Are you ministering to your children the way God wants you to?

TRUST IN GOD

THOUGHTS ON THE ETERNAL KINGDOM

Trust in God

The LORD has given a strong warning not to think like everyone else does. He said,   “Don’t call everything a conspiracy, like they do, and don’t live in dread of what frightens them.  Make the LORD of Heaven’s Armies holy in your life. He is the one you should fear. He is the one who should make you tremble. He will keep you safe……”

Preserve the teaching of God; entrust His instructions to those who follow The Lord.  Wait for the LORD,…… put your hope in Him.

Someone may say to you, “Let’s ask the mediums and those who consult the spirits of the dead. With their whisperings and mutterings, they will tell us what to do.” But shouldn’t people ask God for guidance? Should the living seek guidance from the dead?

Look to God’s instructions and teachings!  People who contradict His Word are completely in the dark.  They will go from one place to another, weary and hungry. And because they are hungry, they will rage and curse their leaders and their God. They will look up to heaven and down at the earth, but wherever they look, there will be trouble and anguish and dark despair. They will be thrown out into the darkness.

PUT YOUR HOPE IN JESUS!!!!  HE IS THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD!!!

Question:    Are you trusting in God and His Word or the words of men?

CHANGE (Serving an unchanging God in a changing world.)

Rita’s thoughts

Over and over, month after month, I hear the word “change”.  How many times have we seen changes in our life, how about in our grandparent’s lives.  We have always tried to adapt with the flow of things.  Only a select few still use a horse and buggy.  We fly instead of driving most of the time.  We have iphones and tablets instead of a rotary telephone, etc.  So what about our sharing of the Gospel?  Are we keeping up with the “change”?   We can’t witness like we did 10 years ago.  We can’t sing like we did in the past, or preach, or evangelize, or just about anything.  It is CHANGE.  We are losing a whole generation because a lot of us are too headstrong about “what we did 10 years ago worked; so it should work today”.  NOT!

Thousands of people will not step foot in a church.  You can have the best Christian rock band in the country at your church and still not bring them in.   People today want action.  They want the truth, and they want it on their territory.  They want to feel something.  “Church” doesn’t have to be in a building.  There are homes opening up and inviting people in just to share Jesus.  Groups are being formed at car races, rodeos, coffee houses, golf courses, etc.  We need to go where the people are and not expect the people to come to us (Jesus did this).  They need to feel Jesus is real and not just a story book character.  They need to feel the power of prayer and see the miracles God can perform.  Pray joy into the place and let them feel laughter like they have never felt before.  It can set them free from their worries and cares.

It is time to step out in faith and CHANGE.  We can’t let this generation slip by us. We need to be willing to CHANGE.  Our music, our clothes, our church services, our preaching, our evangelism, everything has to change. Paul said, “I’ve become all things to all men so that by any means I might save some.1” Don’t get stuck in the rut of the past.  Get out of your box and move on with God’s Spirit.  That is the only way you can be the salt and light to this world that God wants you to be.

Question:  Are you willing to CHANGE so you can reach the people around you for Jesus?
