There is a Kingdom that has always been, and will always be. It is found in the heart of Jehovah God who has no beginning or end. He lives in eternity, and rules over all that exist. Before time began, before you were born, God had an eternal purpose for your life. The only way to find and fulfill this eternal purpose is through a relationship with The Eternal King, Jesus Christ. This blog is about The Eternal King and His Kingdom. It is about how you can be part of His Kingdom by having a relationship with Him, and fulfilling His eternal purpose for you.

LIVING AS PART OF GOD'S KINGDOM

Living in the Power of the Kingdom REQUIRES
THAT WE GROW IN OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH KING JESUS
 THROUGH DAILY FELLOWSHIP WITH HIM

He hadn’t seen another human in weeks, and in all that time He hadn’t eaten any food.  He was very hungry.  Suddenly His ancient enemy was there; not only His enemy, but the enemy of all mankind.  The enemy told Him, “If you’re really who you think you are, turn the stones around you into bread.”  His answer came from deep within His Spirit, “Man does not live by bread alone, but by every Word of God.”  He was about to face His greatest test.  This was a test that Father God had led Him to take.  The reason for the test was so He could defeat the enemy, allowing the Power of the Kingdom to flow through Him as He fulfilled His purpose on earth.  One by one He defeated every temptation of the enemy.  Possessions, relationships, and goals & ambitions were all surrendered to Father God.  After His victory God sent angels to minister to Him.1

How was Jesus able to defeat the enemy?  From an early age He had learned to listen to God’s Spirit inside of Him.2 As He learned the Hebrew Scriptures He meditated day and night on what they meant.  As God revealed the truths of them to Him, He memorized them so He wouldn’t forget what they said and disobey Father God.3  He made it His habit to start the day by spending time with Father God, and listening to His voice telling Him what to do and helping Him understand the challenges He would face that day.  When the enemy showed up there were no surprises.  He was ready.4

As Jesus began His ministry of establishing the Kingdom, He did what every new member of the Kingdom would be required to do.  He was water baptized.  This was a public testimony to show He was part of the Kingdom.5 After defeating the enemy; He began to share with those around Him the things that Father God had taught Him.  Jesus was the Living Word.  What He said had the Power to transform those around Him and defeat the enemy.6 He emphasized the need for people to keep their relationship with Him their highest priority.  He explained that they must allow His Words to go deep into their heart so they could grow to know Him and He could transform their lives.7  He told them that only through daily surrender to God8, and prayer that is motivated by a desire to see His Kingdom9 could they live to fulfill His purpose for them.  He promised that when He left He would send the Holy Spirit to guide them into all truth10 and pour into them the strength to live in the Power of the Kingdom.11 He let them know that through the Power of the Spirit they could live in daily fellowship with Him.  To do this they needed to feed their spirit on what He said in His Word, the Bible, and start their day with prayer.  They needed to continue in an attitude of prayer throughout the day and seek to obey what the Spirit spoke to their heart.12 He let them know that as they did this they would be His co-workers, who would establish His unending Kingdom throughout the world.13

BASED ON WHAT JESUS TAUGHT, YOU NEED TO ASK: Are you living in daily fellowship with Jesus so you can grow to know Him and live in the Power of the Kingdom?

ENTERING THE KINGDOM

Life is a journey.  God loves you and wants you
 to succeed on that journey.
Depending on the path you choose,
you can end up in His Eternal Kingdom with
His abundant  blessings forever,
or live the nightmare that never ends.

Living in the Power of the Kingdom
Begins With Entering the Kingdom by
ESTABLISHING A RELATIONSHIP
WITH JESUS THE KING

The local congregation knew him well. He was a good man, faithful in attending their meetings.  In his daily activities he always tried to do what was right.  God had blessed him; yet he knew something was missing.  He felt far away from God despite his faithful efforts to do all his religion required.  Perhaps The Teacher could help.  He must know God or he couldn’t do the miracles he’d heard about.  So he went to Him and asked, Good Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?”  The Teacher (Jesus) asked him if he kept God’s commandments, and he told Him he did.  Then He told him there was one thing he needed to do.  He must sell everything he owned, give the money to the poor, and follow Him.  As the young man walked away Jesus turned to His disciples and began to talk about what is needed for people to enter His Kingdom.

During the three years of His earthly ministry Jesus often spoke to His disciples about what people needed to do to establish a relationship with Him and become part of His Kingdom.  He explained that eternal life came from personally knowing God through a committed relationship with His son Jesus the King of Kings.2 This relationship must be their highest priority. Only then could they experience the transformation that would totally change their lives and allow them to enter the Kingdom.  He explained this relationship began when people had a heart’s desire to be cleansed of sin, were willing to surrender everything to Him, and wanted Him to take control of their life. This could only happen if they trusted His redeeming work on The Cross to save them with all their heart.3 He let them know that in order to be part of His Kingdom they must love Him more than any person (including themselves), anything they wanted to do, or anything they posessed.4 This is the invitation He gave to every person who said they wanted to follow Him.5

Jesus let people know they must recognize He is King of Kings and Lord of Lords over everything they will face in life.  Surrendering their lives to Him is the first step in growing to know Him.  It is the beginning of a journey that will bring them true success in life.  He made it clear that true success in life is not a matter of money, education, or popularity.   It is finding and fulfilling God’s purpose.  He told them that when life is over the only thing that will be important is doing God’s will.  His Word’s make it clear that to live in the power of the Kingdom we must make our relationship with Him our highest priority.6

BASED ON WHAT JESUS TAUGHT THERE ARE TWO QUESTIONS YOU NEED TO ASK:
Have you surrendered your heart and life totally to Jesus?
Is your relationship with Jesus as King of Kings and Lord of Lords your highest priority?

LIVE IN THE POWER OF THE KINGDOM

GOD’S MESSAGE FOR 2013 AND BEYOND
LIVE IN THE POWER OF THE KINGDOM

As the year 2013 begins we see the governments and systems of the world failing.  Efforts by people in different parts of the world to bring freedom have only brought bondage to those who truly love God.  Economically things are not well and a small miscalculation by those in charge could bring the whole earthly system crashing down.

God’s answer to all this is the same as it has always been. Walk in faith not fear.  LIVE IN THE POWER OF GOD’S KINGDOM.  Jesus came and lived in the Power of the Kingdom.  When Jesus died on the Cross and rose from the dead He established a Kingdom that will never end.  He wants to manifest the Power of the Kingdom in our Lives so the world will see Him and be saved.

If we are a follower of Jesus our primary citizenship is in the Kingdom of Heaven not any earthly nation.  We need to live as citizens of the Heavenly Kingdom and not be swayed by world events.  This is what the world needs.  The secular governments of man will fail, but His Kingdom Power cannot be defeated.  God has called you to live in the Power of The Kingdom so He can establish the Kingdom where you are.  This should be your highest priority

As we have traveled and ministered around the world we have seen the Power of The Kingdom in action.  Miraculous healings have been a part of our lives and the lives of those we know.  God has given incredible, abundant provision for us to live for Him and fulfill His purposes for our lives.  As we approached the end of 2012, the finances we needed to do God’s work in 2013 seemed to be disappearing.  We prayed and in one day God gave us 10 times what we had on hand without any appeals for funds but by simply trusting Him.  As we have lived in obedience to the Spirit we have seen how followers of the King of Kings have authority over earthly governments.  We have seen God remove leaders that tried to stop His Kingdom or bring leaders to repentance so their country can be part of His Kingdom.

Over the next few months God has put on our heart to share with you a series of messages which will help you live in the Power of the Kingdom.  Our prayer is that as we share what God has given us, you and the people you know will live in the Power of the Kingdom and transform your part of the world for Jesus.  Share this message with your friends and get them to register their Email address at TheEternalKingdom.com so they can receive these messages and be part of what God is going to do in 2013.

ARE YOU READY FOR DISASTER?

ARE YOU READY FOR DISASTER?

As I (Henry) woke up that morning God spoke to my spirit and said, “You just need to leave.”  I had been through a number of hurricanes and knew that God could protect you from the devastation that comes from them.  Our home was 25 miles from the coast and 100 feet above sea level.  It was the place family and friends from the coast ran to when a storm approached.  But, the still small voice inside me kept saying, “You just need to leave.”  Normally we simply prayed for God’s protection from the storm, and He always answered that prayer.

By mid-morning there was a general evacuation order for the whole county.  We took care of things the best we could, then we packed our bags and left.  Some friends felt led to come, lay hands on and pray for the huge pine trees that were all around our property.  This prayer was answered and although many of them fell no significant damage was done to our house.   God had built the house and as we closed the door to leave I told the Lord, “You gave us this house.  If it’s still here when we return Praise Your Name.  If it’s not Praise Your Name.  Your will be done.  We trust you.”  God protected our property.  Praise His name!!

As we fled from hurricane Katrina the interstate was jammed.  Traffic was moving literally 5 miles an hour or less.  We made the decision to leave the interstate and take the back roads.  I was very familiar with the area because of my walks with the cross. The trip to my brother’s, about 300 miles east, normally took 5 or 6 hours. This time it took 11 hours.

As we’re writing this, the news is full of possible disasters.  Drought and possible economic collapse of several countries is a present reality.  The US Department of Homeland Security tells us it’s not a matter of if disaster will strike, but when.  It could be man-made or natural, but it is coming.  The Bible tells us that there will be “perilous times” in the last days.  We need to walk in The Light and be prepared to respond when disaster comes.  The same voice that spoke to me before Katrina woke me a few days ago and told me, “Disaster is coming.  Be prepared to flee.”    How can we be prepared?  Listed below are some of the things God has taught us from our own experience of dealing with disasters, and by observing what happens during disasters from news media reports.

From our experience PRAYERFULLY PREPARING FOR DISASTER INVOLVES:

1.    GROWING TO KNOW GOD.  Learn to hear His voice.  Only He can tell you what you should do.  He will tell you whether to leave or stay.  If He tells you to leave, He’ll also tell you where to go.

2.    BEING READY FOR THE POSSIBILITY OF LEAVING IN 5 MINUTES OR LESS. Here are some things to  consider.

        A.  HAVE A DAY PACK ready that you can grab on a moment’s notice with these essential items.

               Copies of important personal documents.
Passport, driver’s license, medical coverage, etc.

Cash (Minimum of $100 in bills smaller than $20.)

3 day’s supply of food.  protein bars, energy bars, etc.

A bottle of water, and a water bottle with a built in water filter.

At least 1 change of clothes including flip flops or Crocs.
               Small pack of personal toiletries.

               An emergency blanket

               An emergency raincoat or poncho.

                An emergency shelter.

A Swiss army knife and/or Leatherman.

                Cigarette lighter or waterproof matches.

                Hand generated flashlight.

                 Hand generated radio.

                 Binoculars

                First Aid Kit

        B.  If you have a vehicle DO NOT let the gas tank get below 1/2.
BICYCLES are a good alternative means of transportation.

       C.  HAVE A PREDETERMINED PLACE where you feel God wants
you to go in case of disaster. Make sure all family members know
how to get there.  Family members should carry a piece of paper
with their name, and a map and address of the place they are to
go. Also contact information, phone numbers, email addresses etc.
of other family members.   PLAN YOUR ESCAPE ROUTE SO
YOU WILL AVOID MAIN ROADS. They will probably be too
             congested in an emergency.

       D.  MAINTAIN A THIRTY DAY SUPPLY OF NON PERISHABLE
FOOD AND GOODS.  Keep it in a container or trunk you can grab
on a moment’s notice and place in your vehicle. Rotate the contents
            every 3 months.

       E.  MAINTAIN A CONTAINER OF CAMPING EQUIPMENT that
you can grab and place in your vehicle on a moment’s notice.
Tents, air mattresses, air pump, sleeping bags, cooking utensils etc.
            should be included.

       F.  KEEP YOUR IMPORTANT FAMILY DOCUMENTS IN A SMALL
WATERPROOF CONTAINER that you can grab on a moment’s
notice. Deeds, birth certificates, passports, insurance papers, Wills,
Powers of Attorney, bank documents etc. should be included.

       G.  SOLAR POWER FOR CELL PHONES, LIGHTS AND OTHER
THINGS IS AVAILABLE.  You may want to include this in the
            things you pack.

       H.  KEEP ANY MEDICATIONS YOU TAKE IN A SMALL
WATERPROOF CONTAINER that you can grab on a moment’s
            notice.

3.    If God blesses and you’re able to PREPARE A PLACE TO FLEE TO
AHEAD OF TIME, you will want to keep a 6 months’ supply of
non-perishable items there.  Be sure to rotate these supplies as
       much as you can.

4.    PRACTICE DISASTER PREPAREDNESS twice a year if possible.

REMEMBER OUR HOPE IS IN GOD!  He is the one we are to look to when disaster comes. Prepare as much as you can and then approach each situation with prayer.

SCRIPTURES TO CONSIDER:
The LORD hears his people when they call to him for help. He rescues them from all their troubles.
 Psalm 34:17
The righteous person faces many troubles, but the LORD comes to the rescue each time.
 Psalm 34:19
Then call on me when you are in trouble, and I will rescue you, and you will give me glory.
 Psalm 50:15
A prudent man foresees evil and hides himself, but the simple pass on and are punished.
 Proverbs 22:3 & 27:12

KINGDOM GIVING

KINGDOM GIVING

Many people have questions about New Testament giving.   Adding to this misunderstanding is the confusion many people have about keeping the law versus walking in the Kingdom principles contained within it.  If we are truly a follower of Jesus then we will seek to understand the Kingdom principles concerning giving.   We will want to walk in them because we love God and want to please Him.  Kingdom giving comes from Kingdom living.  Those who are not living for The Kingdom will find it difficult to give according to Kingdom principles.

The Tithe and The Kingdom

Although the “tithe” (the first 10 percent of our income) is part of the Old Testament law it was a principle that preceded the Law.  Leviticus 27:30 states the principle that “The tithe is the Lords.”   It is a principle that both Abraham and Jacob practiced before the Law was given. (Genesis 14:20, & 28:22)  Why does “the tithe” belong to God?  He is the source of every blessing we have.  “The tithe” is the test of our heart.  Giving a tithe from the first fruits of what He’s blessed us with is our way of acknowledging Him as our source and showing we trust Him to provide for our needs. The way we handle the material blessings God gives us is an indication of our relationship with Him.  Jesus put it this way, And if you are untrustworthy about worldly wealth, who will trust you with the true riches of Heaven?” (Luke 16:11 NLT)

Scripture indicates that the purpose of “the tithe” is to provide for the needs of those we receive ministry from so they will be free to minister to us.  Abraham gave his tithe to the local priest.  The children of Israel gave their tithe to the Levites that lived among them.  Paul put it this way Let him who is taught the Word share in all good things with him who teaches; and “You shall not muzzle an ox while it treads out the grain,” and,The laborer is worthy of his wages.”(Galatians 6:6 &     1Timothy 5:18)

Offerings and The Kingdom

Offerings come from our heart when we love others more than we love ourselves.  This type of love is a sign of true spiritual maturity.

Ephesians 4:28 makes it clear that the reason we are blessed with a job is not only to meet our needs, but to give to the genuine needs we see around us.  2 Corinthians 8:12-15 tells us that we should have a desire that every person has their needs met and live as comfortably as we do.  This is part of loving your neighbor as much as you love yourself.   Proverbs 3:27-28 tells us we should give our neighbor what he needs if we are able to do so. Paul put it this way in Galatians 6:10, Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.” (NKJV)  The word “all” includes those we do not like or agree with.  Proverbs 25:21 & Romans 12:17-21 tells that one of the ways we overcome the evil in this world is by giving to our enemies.  Jesus gave to Judas even though He knew he would betray Him.

You cannot out give God

Kingdom giving leads to blessings.  Living to bless ourselves causes us to be cursed. To selfishly live an extravagant lifestyle when there are people we know who are in genuine need is a sign we love ourselves more than God. The love of money is the root of much of the evil in this world.  It comes from a heart that loves its own pleasure more than it desires to do God’s will, and does not trust God to meet its needs.  The Word makes it very clear, He who despises his neighbor sins; but he who has mercy on the poor, happy is he.” (Proverbs 14:21 NKJV) The righteous considers the cause of the poor, but the wicked does not understand such knowledge.” (Proverbs 29:7 NKJV) “He who gives to the poor will not lack, but he who hides his eyes will have many curses.” (Proverbs 28:27)

Those who give according to Kingdom principles believe God’s Word is true.  “He who oppresses the poor reproaches his Maker, but he who honors Him has mercy on the needy.” (Proverbs 14:31 NKJV)  “He who has a generous eye will be blessed, for he gives of his bread to the poor.” (Proverbs 22:9 NKJV)  “He who has pity on the poor lends to the LORD, and He will pay back what he has given.” (Proverbs 19:17 NKJV)   “Remember this—a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop, but the one who plants generously will get a generous crop.  You must each decide in your heart how much to give, and don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. “For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.”   God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others.  As the Scriptures say,
“They share freely and give generously to the poor.
Their good deeds will be remembered forever.”
For God is the one who provides seed for the farmer and then bread to eat. In the same way, He will provide and increase your resources and then produce a great harvest of generosity in you. Yes, you will be enriched in every way so that you can always be generous……”
(2 Corinthians 9:6-11 NLT)

POLITICIANS ARE NOT OUR HOPE!

POLITICIANS ARE NOT OUR HOPE

God says you’re in trouble when you put your trust in politicians instead of following Him and living to fulfill His purpose.  If you do this you will end up wasting your time and energy, and your life will amount to nothing.

Keep your focus on Jesus.  Love Him, trust Him, and believe He will meet all your needs.  If you do this your life will be blessed, and you will never lack what you require.  Living for Jesus enables you to have victory over life’s problems and live without fear.  As you follow Jesus you will fulfill His purpose for you.  Your life will be successful.

Your heart can deceive you.  Think about what you are doing and why you are doing it.  Doing it in Jesus name doesn’t make it right.  We must desire change because we love Jesus and want to see people reached for His Kingdom.  If our purpose for desiring change is so we can have a comfortable life and do what we want to do, then God will not honor our prayers and actions.  The reason the world is headed for destruction is because to many who say they are followers of Jesus are really living to please themselves.

Question:  Is your hope in Jesus or political leaders?
